Mr. Bogangles and Parley P. Pratt

Megan has two very big cats.  I have to admit they are the best family cats I have ever seen but oh my goodness they have to be 30 lbs apiece!!

We had to get used to each other. In other words they had to get used to not jumping only bed!  That first night was an eye opener for them. ;-). It felt like a wrecking ball landing on the bed each time they jumped on. I think I dislocated my shoulder tossing them off.  Let's just say they have contented themselves with the couch at night.

I don't actually know how smart they are because they let the baby lay all over them. But there is no accounting for taste   But the kids are crazy about them.

Sushi

Logan has become somewhat of a sushi chef. I tease him because he lurks on sushi Pinterest.
Last night he favored me with his talents.
He makes the sticky rice and adds some extra ingredients.
He made dragon roll and California roll. I didn't want anything raw.
He makes it look easy.

I was stuffed. And yes, we finished it all off. Though I can safely say my craving for sushi is gone. It was delish.

The kids, on the other hand, got their request. Hotdogs.  I definitely had the better end of the deal.

Though Joseph was very entertained by his dinner.

On My Way

Just a note.  Somehow this post got posted in the wrong order!  My vote is technical rather than human error.  :-)

I am off this morning!!  Although Arkansas got some unexpected snow last night, I am flying out for Utah to watch the grand kids for a week so Megan and Brian can go to Hawaii on a business trip. Phil was a trooper and got me here in plenty of time for my 6am flight.

Do you know how, when you are flying, some people dress in the most ridiculous clothes??  One lady in front of me is wearing skintight whites pants, a crop top baring her belly and spiky black heels.  Puhleeeese.

Happy to say many people, due to the early hour or two inches of snow, are dressed more comfortably with tennis shoes

Here's it hoping the plane leaves on time!

The Welcome

After getting a ride on a shuttle that appeared to have a faulty GPS system, I finally arrived in Orem!  I am happy to say that everyone was thrilled  to see me except Joseph. He clung to his Uncle Logan for dear life.

It is a good thing I have a week to win him over with my grandmotherly charms.

Bath and bedtime went smoothly and Jack was out the second his head hit the pillow. The baby slept well until about 2. He was not happy to see I was still here but brightened up and went back to sleep when I let him stay in my bed with me.  Small price to pay to give him some peace of mind.

All is well here, Megan. No worries.

Phoenix

Sunny and a balmy 53. Woohoo.

And an amazing amount of Bloody Marys being sold by a gregarious bartender at my next gate.

I opted for a Naked brand green smoothie.  It is only 8:30 in the morning.

I live such a simple life......

Next stop:  Salt Lake City

Gotta Love Arkansas This Winter!

I woke up this morning to get ready for seminary class.  I get up at 4:00 a.m. in order to get things done that I need to get done before I leave the house at 5:45.  I checked the weather this morning at 4 and it showed one little tiny speck of precipitation in Northern Arkansas.

I got up, showered, dressed for school and went to seminary.

There were two girls there waiting for me from another school district south of us and they said their school had closed for the day.  What!?!  That school and my school never close - or so it seems to me.  So at 6:00 am I checked and sure enough - a ton of schools in Arkansas are closed today, including mine!  By 6:40 Phil called and told me I needed to let the kids out because the roads were icing.  Some of the kids live 20 minutes away.

So here I am, showered and dressed with a whole day ahead of me.  What to do first!?!  The angel on my shoulder is telling me to clean, bake bread, put up the folded laundry covering the table, and do some taxes.  The devil on my shoulder is telling me to bake cookies, watch Sherlock Holmes, and take a nap.

Decisions, decisions.

In other news - the red marks and rash on Ethan's face were not fading, so the nurse came by the house yesterday and brought him a different mask to try.  I personally thinks it looks a lot more comfortable.  It is made from different material and is smaller around the nose.  He looks less like an alien, now he resembles more an elephant.  We will see how it works!  This morning the redness on the side of nose was gone, so it is a start.

Enjoy your day!!

Shades of People

This week we celebrated 100 days of school!!  It is such a big event!  We had the grand parade in our gym since Arkansas has decided to imitate Michigan this winter.

As I was looking at all 450 children march by and wave, I saw so many different shades of color.  My school has such a diverse population that you could put an entire class together and you wouldn't find any colored the exact same way.  It is so beautiful!!  It makes my heart so happy to see them be friends with other and help each other.  If the world as a whole followed their example it would be a much happier and peaceful place!

I have a book I always read the first week of school.  Make your heart happy and read it!
