Get The Party Started

Brian and Bryan were the last two we are expecting for our Party/Farewell Week. Now it is time to rock.

After eating one of Logan's requests - Navajo Tacos - we headed to........

Jack had a good opinion of the product!

Checking it out.
Megan wasn't too sure about the unicycle-skateboard.
Bryan and Ethan telling it like it is.
Notice the gleam in Dad's eyes - or is that stress........
Claire found a lift herself.
Trying out the two-seater.....

Bryan has promised to enjoy himself....and catch up on sleep.
Drop on by!!!

For Sami (and Grandma)

Because you complained asked:
Jack enjoying some Sunday dessert with Grandpa.

Claire and Ethan in one of their "quieter" moments.

Sometimes you just have to get away for some quiet time.

The pool has been a lifesaver. It has been HOT and HUMID.

Time for Home

After a week in Utah, I am finally going home! The first time since school got out, really. I am ready to be home with the boys, I have missed them.

It has been great to be in Utah again. The weather has been GORGEOUS!! We had a picnic in the mountain one day and the weather was perfect. I do believe Arkansas was in a heat advisory at the time.........

Megan and the kids are coming home with me to spend three weeks! We have Phil's mom coming in next Saturday, my mom and two nieces the following Friday, then Brian and Bryan the next day. We will have quite the crew until the 8th of August. Then I will boohoo like a baby. Mom and the girls leave on the 4th and then everyone (including Logan) will leave on the 8th. That happens to be the first day back to school, too. I will be an emotional wreck. Yikes.

I wish I could say I took a ton of pictures, but honestly, my hands were busy with the little ones.

Me and the C.C.C

The Curse of the Confectionery Container

i.e. the candy dish

Mom is a lovely person, just ask anyone. She has a pantry full of treats and a frig of yummy drinks anytime the grandkids visit. Even the littlest ones (2 years old) know where to go and how to use the step stool to get what they want.

For me, however, she is devious (she just doesn't know it).

When you walk in the front door there is a side table strategically placed so that you must pass it anytime you walk into the house, go to the back bedrooms, to find the bathroom, and to reach the door to the downstairs.

On that side table, aside from family pictures and a lamp, sits a crystal dish - filled to the rim - with peanut m&ms.

A curse.

Somehow, by some power I have yet to logically explain, my hand reaches instinctively towards the dish each time I pass by. Sometimes I even make an unnecessary sweep in that direction for no other reason than to reach in the dish.

I just finished spending 10 days at mom's. I think I have an extra pound for each day I was there.

The curse.

Perhaps it is because I never buy m&ms. Maybe if I kept my house full of them I would tire of them and not be so tempted to reach in that dish and eat them???

Fat chance (no pun intended).

I would provide you a picture of those tempting lil' morsels, but I managed to spend ten days and only take one picture - of the dog.

I guess I will have to rob my niece's blog for pictures of our trip.

In the meantime, Jillian and I had a nice little visit this morning as I started Day One of the 30 Day Shed.

Wish me luck.

Cousin Time

We are having a great time here. My sister made me three skirts :-), I've helped mom clean, and Ethan has been able to play with cousins.
