Don't Leave the State Without Them!

Those of you living in Arizona don't realize how lucky you are to have Arizona Brand Corn Tortillas! I love them so much I can't eat any of the thick yucky stuff they sell in the Midwest and South.

My grandmother in Arizona sends me boxes of them. We don't dare make tacos without them.

Thanks, Mama!!!! You are the best!!!!!! (and yes, I do still have some in the freezer)

Be careful what you buy from the guy on the road...

a snippet from Bryan's letter this week:

"Thursday turned out to be a regular proselyting day. I was sad, and apparently hungry at the end of it. So on the way home I bought everything in sight. Which included some beef that a man was selling on the road side. He say it was beef but I think it was dog. It smelled good. Then I bought some cold pork. I just made some really smart culinary decisions because then we bought a link of what they called cow intestine but really it could have been anything’s intestine (which was chewy but good), also on the road side. Which isn’t anything uncommon...but..something I ate must have had something in it cause I woke up that morning on the toilet with a bucket in front of me throwing up. I was so upset, but I stuck it out and the Meeks picked us up for the day and we had a good ole time. At least me and Elder Ravert did, we understood Thanksgiving. But we all enjoyed the food -mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and pork chops, then we had ice cream and pumpkin bread. It was so good, and I enjoyed every last bit of it even if I was sick. It even felt like it was autumn time cause of the air conditioning. I love the Meeks. After I just came home and slept. I was sicker than a dog, but I got some dewormer the other day so I’m back to normal. I was feeling them worm around in my stomach….."

While the Cat's Away...

Ethan loves vanilla ice cream. We usually give just a tad each day after school. Nothing to brag about, just a little. Not much more than a spoonful. But he always gets "seconds" - which is usually just another spoonful.

Today Phil gave him his first helping and left with Jordan. It was Ethan and I home alone. I was in one side of the house working and he is was in the other, eating ice cream. It was very quiet - too quiet. I went looking for him and found that he was showing independence by getting his own second helping....

He was very generous with himself.
And yes, I took most of it out of his bowl. He didn't complain, so he must of known he was being sneaky :-)
