An Unexpected Turn of Events

I thought I was teaching this entire week. I showed up today and lo and behold, the teacher was back. How dare her. Now I don't work until Thursday, sniff, sniff.

So, yes, I am spending my precious free time blogging. How terribly sad.

I should be cleaning.

I should be finishing a pile of homework from the last two weeks.

I should be running those millions of errands I don't think I have time for.

Yet, here I am. Organizing books and blogging.

The upside is, I found some new pictures on my camera.
One bit of wonderful news this month was the birth of my sister's 7th baby. A boy! Now, we all took a wager on how big he was. We were all thinking in the 8 lb+ range.

Well, we were all a little off......

Babies make for happy times :-)

I Grew Up On A Farm

Wow! This book is beautiful. I bought it because it is so versatile in the classroom - there is so much that can be talked about and done around this wonderful book.

The author tells about his life on the farm as a child. The drawings are mixed with real life photographs. The story of dad getting the tractor stuck in a hole would be something I would do!

I was so excited when I read it to Ethan tonight (I have missed our reading sessions - we have been without them for the last two weeks).

Pick it up! Now! You will probably have to ask your librarian to find it somewhere, but you will be doing your library a favor if you ask them to order it for their collection.

Promise!

Change of Seasons

Well, I see it has been over a month since I have written. I will say it has not been a good month. I am not ready to post about it, however, that will take some time. My emotions are still right on the surface and too tender to talk about.

In the meantime, I will try to focus on rounding up some pictures of my cute kids and grandkids. I am missing them something fierce and can't wait to see them all again. I am going to try to fly down the end of the month for a short visit.
I have loved the change of the weather. It is causing me a lot of reflection as I ponder the never-ending cycle of time, no matter what the seasons change and time moves on. Sometimes all we can do is hold on tight for the ride until we can take a breath.

Now let's see what I can round up...........
