The guests outside my classroom window have gone. Yesterday morning I checked on them and there was only one baby bird left. Mama was NOT happy I was there checking in, either. She was taking some kamikazi dives at the window in an attempt to ward me off.
Fifteen minutes after I checked on baby #3, he was gone. He was hopping on the grass in front of the school. About 20 minutes after that I checked and he was gone.
I don't know if they come back to nests. I don't know if that nest will ever be used again. But it was fun to watch while it lasted.
